Offshore Double Handed Worlds: Welcome Reception and Your Guide to Following the Action

Cowes, UK (22 September 2025) – The 2025 Offshore Double Handed World Championships Welcome Reception was held at the RORC Cowes Clubhouse. Race Director Steve Cole introduced RORC Commodore Deb Fish to make the draw for the allocation of one-design Sun Fast 30s for Qualification Race 1 which will start today 23 September. After the draw, competing teams, race officials and honoured guests enjoyed a complimentary crew supper in the RORC dining room.

Deb Fish commented: “It is a real pleasure to welcome you all to Cowes for the 2025 Offshore Double Handed World Championships. In our Centenary year, hosting a World Sailing-recognised event with 21 teams from 14 nations is a proud moment for the RORC. My thanks go to Steve Cole and the RORC Race Team, the Cowes Clubhouse staff, and our partners Cap-Regatta, LGL, Jeanneau and many others for their support. Above all, thank you to the sailors — you bring this championship to life. We look forward to a fantastic week of competition.”

Racing gets underway today, Tuesday 23 September at 13:00 BST with the first qualifying race. The course of approximately 140nm has been published here. The target time for the race is 24 hours.
