Storm Trysail Co-Sponsors Big Boat Racing Seminar |
|
The new RORC Commodore Andrew McIrvine visited Larchmont YC last weekend to attend a seminar organised by Storm Trysail Club to discuss ways to increase participation in big boat sailing. STC worked with US-IRC, New York Yacht Club, Larchmont Yacht Club, and the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) to present a comprehensive program.
There were three sessions, each featuring guest speakers and then open panel-audience participation. After welcoming the guests from as far away as San Francisco and London, Chairman of the US-IRC Owners Committee Richard du Moulin introduced the new Chairman of the Board of US-IRC, John Brim (owner of RIMA).

The Rolex Fastnet Race Minisite is now live |
|
The entry for the 2009 Rolex Fastnet Race opens on 5th January 2009.
Details of the entry, qualification, training and documents required are now available in the Advanced Competitors Information, all you need to know is clearly laid out on the new Rolex Fastnet Race Minisite.
The 2007 Rolex Fastnet Race was very well subscribed and waiting list had to be formed. The logistics of the race and berthing in Plymouth means the entry will be limited to 300 boats, if we reach the limit we will again set up a waiting list.
In your planning for the race you may be interested in the Crew match evening held at the Royal Ocean Racing Club, Clubhouse in London on the 16th January 2009, where we aim to introduce Owners/Skippers and crew to each other. The full details of the event will be published on the main RORC website www.rorc.org.
